England Easily Defeats Pakistan In A Warm-up Match

Ben Stokes has shown encouraging signs of making a comeback to form for the England team, which is led by Jos Buttler.
The team was compelled to make the return travel from Perth to Brisbane in order to play a World Cup warm-up match.
Stokes has had a difficult time adjusting to white ball cricket since his return, but he scored 36 runs off 18 balls as England defeated Pakistan by six wickets in a low-key match at The Gabba on Monday.
Liam Livingstone also made a successful return from an ankle injury by scoring 28 runs off of 16 deliveries, while Harry Brook’s not out 45 runs off of 24 balls helped England easily surpass a 161-run goal.
There were also boundary-filled cameos from Stokes and Sam Curran (33 not out off 14) as England overhauled their mark with 26 balls to spare in a match that was trimmed to 19 overs each owing to rain. In total, the contest lasted for 19 overs.
Their cause was helped by some sloppy fielding by Pakistan, which included Livingstone being dropped off successive deliveries. Despite this, he briefly shined with a pair of meaty sixes, which improved their cause.
In addition to taking one wicket for eight runs off of two overs, Livingstone’s ball put the brakes on Pakistan’s scoring after they got off to a quick start. This proved that he is one of the most powerful hitters in the game.
Shan Masood, who had been promoted to opener status, led his team in scoring with 39 runs from 22 balls in their 8-160 total after neither Babar Azam nor Mohammad Rizwan batted for Pakistan, who were led at the batting position by Shadab Khan.
David Willey’s final stats of 2-22 made him the standout bowler for England, despite the fact that the team used eight different bowlers. Only Chris Jordan was successful in fulfilling his quota of four overs.
Buttler was moved down the order to bat later, and in the end, he did not bat at all, as Alex Hales and Phil Salt began batting for England in their response; however, neither of them reached double figures in their score.
After this, England will head back to Perth, where they will play their first World Cup game on Saturday against Afghanistan.
