Christian And Kirsten Are Now Part Of The Netherlands Cup Team

Gary Kirsten, a former coach in South Africa, and Dan Christian, an all-rounder for Australia, will be providing assistance to the Netherlands during the T20 World Cup.
Former India and South Africa coach Gary Kirsten and Australia all-rounder Dan Christian will be joining the coaching staff of the Dutch team for the Twenty20 World Cup as consultants, according to an announcement made by the Netherlands cricket authority.
In 2011, Kirsten led India to victory at the 50-over World Cup, and in 2012, she coached South Africa to the top of the Test rankings.
The 54-year-old has also served as a coach for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League. Additionally, he was the head coach for the Hobart Hurricanes of the Big Bash League.
Kirsten, a former South African opener, had worked with the Netherlands earlier, specifically during their series against Ireland in 2021.
In a statement, Kirsten expressed her excitement about the opportunity to work with the organization as a consultant for the Twenty20 World Cup.
“During the course of the camp, I was astonished by the level of expertise and professionalism that was displayed.
They will arrive at the T20 World Cup prepared and motivated to make a significant influence on the competition.
Christian was a member of Australia’s T20 World Cup squad in 2010, 2012, and 2014, and he traveled with the squad as a reserve player when they won the title in 2021.
“I’ve had a terrific couple of weeks getting to know the boys, and I’ve been incredibly impressed with everyone’s work ethic at practice,” Christian said. “I’ve had a great couple of weeks.”
The United Arab Emirates will be the opponents for the Netherlands when the tournament gets underway on October 16. The Netherlands, together with Namibia and Sri Lanka, were placed in Group A for the opening round of the competition.
